Zakyia Weathersby was named the Conference USA women’s basketball player of the week for her performances in wins against Chattanooga and Miles this past week.
Weathersby had double-doubles against both Chattanooga and Miles this past week. She is now up to six double-doubles on the season. She averaged 15 rebounds and over 21 points in the two wins this weekend.
The Collins, Miss. native leads C-USA in rebounding with 12.3 boards per game. She is also second in scoring among C-USA players with 18 points per game.
This is the first time any UAB player has been received a C-USA weekly honor this season. Weathersby was named C-USA player of the week once before last season on Feb. 22.
