A new Chick-fil-A location will open up in 2024 at the Hill Student Center, UAB Campus Dining announced today.
The announcement comes after much planning and the closure of Full Moon Bar-B-Que earlier this year.
“It’s been a plan for two years, and we wanted to make sure do the new concept properly,” said a spokesperson for UAB Dining.
Student reactions have been positive following the unveiling.
“It’s a great convenient location,” said UAB student Binoop Mohan. “I like that they’re finally bringing Chick-fil-A here.”
The location will be housed in the former Full Moon Bar-B-Que spot next to Panera Bread and adjacent to Mein Bowl.
Chick-fil-A brings a fan-favorite menu including their beloved original chicken sandwiches, waffle fries and milkshakes.
The opening follows UAB Dining’s efforts to introduce more food options to students. They recently opened a ghost kitchen called WowBao, located at the Grid in the Engineering and Education Building, where students can order Chinese cuisine through the Everyday app.
