Students are being sent home from the residence halls, but some are unable or unwilling to go home this holiday season, and UAB has resources to help. The UAB benevolent fun is based entirely on charitable donations, and their goal is to provide support to the UAB community. Part of that support is the Blazer Kitchen, a free food pantry for students and employees. You’ve been exposed to COVID-19, now what? Written by John Kuykendall The Coronavirus can be scary, but if you have been exposed the first thing to do is remain calm. Take a breath and begin planning. Step one, identify if you have been exposed. The Centers for Disease Control indicates direct exposure as being within six feet distance for greater than 15 minutes of a person with a positive test or of a person who has symptoms. Xavier Turner and Angela Lee were announced as the new Mr. and Ms. UAB at the homecoming game Saturday. The Mr. and Ms. UAB scholarship contest has been a UAB tradition since 1981. The two winners are chosen through numerous rounds of interviews and a student vote. Mr. and Ms. UAB are not only given a $2,500 scholarship each, but they will serve as representatives for UAB on the Student Alumni Society Leadership Council for the next year.
