Here at Kaleidoscope, we stand by Destiny Washington, her loved ones and others that have been taken too soon through acts of violence. On December 17, Washington was killed after being shot in the Hill Student Center parking lot. No student should fear stepping on campus, no matter the time of day. UAB’s campus should be a safe space for each student. We are calling for the university to do better.
