Tensions were high this week as intramural teams went head to head in the Men’s Fraternity, Men’s Recreational and the Men’s Competitive divisions of intramural basketball.
Monday night, the Wreckin Crew Brothers faced off in a heated match against the men of Pi Kappa Phi. Coming off of their big win against the men of Lambda Chi last week, Pi Kappa Phi battled the Wreckin Crew Brothers in a game that resulted in a brawl. The scores for that game have not been released.
This week, Pi Kappa Phi will take on their rivals Alpha Phi Alpha. The men of Lambda Chi Alpha defeated Theta Chi 44-13, bringing the team to 3-0 overall. This week, Lambda Chi will take on Alpha Tau Omega on Wednesday night at 9 p.m.
Last Tuesday night in the Men’s Recreational Division, the Money Team defeated the Billy Hoyles 59-38. The Pterodactyls won against Desi Demolition 61-40 on Wednesday night. Both the Money Team and the Pterodactyls are 2-0 and will attempt to maintain their reigns on Tuesday and Wednesday nights respectively. The top two teams in the Men’s Competitive Division, the Jump out Boys and the Kings of Dr. Leon, will return this week after a bye week.
Both teams are undefeated and Kings of Dr. Leon rank first in points per game, averaging 51 points per game. Just two weeks ago, the Jump Out Boys won 74-70 in a close match against High Tech. They will face Gucci Inc. this week. The Kings of Dr. Leon are returning after a win against the Beta Blockers to take on Team Diversity Thursday at 9 p.m.
