UAB to receive $12 million in emergency fund

The Coronavirus Aid, Relief and Economic Safety (CARES) Act under the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund will allocate about $14 billion on grants to colleges around the county according to The Chronicle of Higher Education.

On Thursday, April 9, the U.S. Department of Education shared how much they planned to allocate the $12.5 billion out of the $14 billion across the country.

Below is table on much colleges in Alabama is in line to receive. Half of each institution’s grant money is allocated toward emergency student aid (represented in the right column). According to the U.S. Department of Education, this money had already been released.
