As we get closer to Halloween, there are more temptations to resist social distancing. With parties and trick-or-treating, it’s easy to lose sight of the main interest in staging healthy at this time. Here are some safe ways to celebrate Halloween this year:
Binge your favorite fall movie
We know most students have just completed their midterms and need to take their mind off of a long week full of classes. Pop some popcorn, get some candy, make a cup of hot chocolate and play one of these fall favorites:
- Harry Potter
- Hocus Pocus
- Halloween Town
- Nightmare Before Christmas
- Twitches
- You cannot go wrong with any fall Disney movie.
Include the whole household
There are many activities that the whole household can do together. Hold a movie night with the above movies, do a scavenger event or have a halloween contest within your house with some DIY Halloween costumes.
Bake a fall treat
From pumpkin spice everything, apple pie and caramel apples, there are so many different flavors and spices to mess around with in the kitchen this season. There is nothing more fall than spending quality family time, so make sure when you mess around in the kitchen you have a friend, family member, or a buddy to help you out.
Decorate your house
Kids might not be coming in to trick-or-treat, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still have some fun decorating! Take some time to make the best haunted house on your block, and utilize zoom to have a contest with the whole neighborhood. Decorating both the inside and outside is the best way to get the whole family into the Halloween spirit.
With all of your fall activities this season, make sure to wear a mask, practice proper hygiene and be socially distant. It’s still possible to have fun and spend some time with each other this Halloween and fall season but make sure you’re also making smart decisions. We are still in a pandemic!
