I’m rewatching “YOU” season 2 in preparation for the release of season 3 which is supposed to come out between October and December. It’s been a while since I watched it and wanted a refresher. I’m really happy with how they manage to not completely repeat season 1, since it would be so easy. Instead the writers incorporated new stakes and new mannerisms into Penn Badgley’s character Joe Goldberg along with a great twist.
“YOU” is available to stream on Netflix.

I’ve been watching “Criminal Minds”. My fiancée and I have been enjoying pointing out all the unrealistic tech and big leaps of logic to each other as we watch.
All fifteen seasons of “Criminal Minds” are available to stream on Paramount+. Select seasons are also available to stream on Hulu and Netflix.

I’ve been watching “Happy Endings” again. It’s always easy to forget just how great of a show it was. It’s such a classic sitcom formula of six friends with little morals hanging out everyday, but it’s so well written that it juggles three or four different stories per episode and you don’t even realize it most of the time. It’s insane to think only three seasons were made of this show.
In a just world, Casey Wilson, Damon Wayans, Jr. (a good case of nepotism), Adam Pally, Eliza Coupe, etc. would all be A-listers like the “Friends” or “Seinfeld” cast, yet they’ve mostly really not done any major roles since.
“Happy Endings” is currently available to stream on HBO Max, Hulu and Netflix.
I’m also spending some time catching up on “Mythic Quest” season two. It’s a sitcom about the dysfunction and tensions at a company that makes a popular MMO game called Mythic Quest. It has a weirdly large amount of recognizable actors (Oscar winner F. Murray Abraham is usually in each episode for like two minutes max), but Charlotte Nicdao’s role is the true breakthrough.
After this week’s dreadful Emmy comedy nominations, it’s really frustrating to see another show that was passed over for no reason beyond not having the Netflix brand or a A-list star in the lead role. Nicdao is giving one of TV’s best performances, but you’d never know that be looking at an awards show.
“Mythic Quest” is now available to stream on AppleTV+.

I have been watching an anime called “Nana”. It is about two girls with complete opposite personalities named Nana who coincidentally meet each other on the train as they are both moving to Tokyo. They coincidentally meet again when they both are trying to rent out the same apartment, and since neither wants to give up the apartment to the other they decide to live together. The story then proceeds to show each girls journey trying to complete opposite life goals together and the everyday struggles from adjusting to adulthood including finding jobs, paying rent, and growing apart from friends.
I like this show so much is because the show isn’t full of coming of age clichés and instead it has everyday real life struggles that are usually overlooked in movies and shows that most people can relate to.
“Nana” is available to stream on HiDive.
