We are officially three days away from kickoff at Protective Stadium. The Blazers are a 2-point favorite over the Liberty Flames. Here’s Kaleidoscope’s guide to gameday including game entry, ticket pickup and more.
TICKETS
All currently enrolled, full-time students get one free ticket to every home game. For pickup, head to Bartow Arena. The UAB athletics ticket office window will be open until Friday at 12 p.m. of this week.
First come first serve tickets for students will also be available at the BJCC East Exhibition Hall beginning four hours before kickoff.
For any other tickets for family or friends, go to blazergameday.com
Students can enter through any gate of Protective Stadium, but the south entrances are most convenient. Re-entry is prohibited.
If you need assistance, ADA seating for students will also be available in the south endzone with ramp access. Contact the UAB athletics ticket office for accommodations prior to gameday.
Once inside, students can find seating in Sections 112-120. The Gang Green student section is a GA, first-come first-served space, and is adjacent to the UAB Marching Band in Section 121.
TRANSPORTATION
There are multiple options for transportation to the game. The Blazer Express will be offering free shuttle service for students and the public. Pickup will be located at the Hill Student Center, while drop off will be at the bus loop adjacent to the BJCC Exhibition Hall on Richard Arrington Jr. Blvd.
Shuttle service will end one hour following the conclusion of the game. It is recommended you begin your route to the stadium as early as possible to avoid long wait times. Download the DoubleMap app to keep up with real time updates on bus arrival and departure times.
UAB student parking will be in Lot P13 and is also done on a first-come, first-serve basis by showing a valid ONE Card. There will be paid lot parking outside of the allotted gameday area which is expected to fill up.
There is an Uber/Lyft pickup and drop-off spot located outside of the BJCC Exhibition Hall.
TAILGATES
Student tailgates will be outside of the stadium beginning four hours before kickoff. Feel free to check out organizations and students hanging out before you head into the game.
For student tailgate passes, they are available on a first come, first serve basis until all passes have been distributed. Only one reserved parking space will be available for one organization/group to maximize space. Check out the Protective Stadium Tailgating Policies for details into what you can/cannot bring: https://blazergameday.com/tailgating/tailgating-policies/.
CONCESSIONS
Concessions and bar service will be available in many areas throughout Protective Stadium. Local restaurant Yo’ Mama’s is one of the featured restaurants inside of the stadium. If you want to get a meal before the game, I recommend Mugshots or Texas de Brazil in Midtown, close to the stadium.
Our best advice is to get there before kickoff, so you have time to make it into the game and see everything going on outside of the stadium. Wear green and be loud.
