UAB’s USGA held an informal meeting September 28, 2021, in the Hill Student Center room 318.
The executive council said they are working on making meeting minutes publicly available. President Angela Lee’s official campaign platform included granting UAB community members access to the Google Drive containing minutes. Meeting minutes should also legally be publicly available according to Alabama statute.
Michayla Jeremiah, the executive vice president, gave a brief overview of what UAB expects of USGA Senators. This presentation included the use of non-school organized meetings and how the meetings should be recorded.
USGA requires that any out of school meetings by committees record meeting minutes that include attendance. These meeting minutes should be uploaded to USGA google drive before 5:00pm the day after the meeting.
The Judicial branch had a presentation to help educate the new USGA sectators on the legal aspects of their positions. The presentation included tips and tricks on how senators can improve their legal writing and what their rights are as senators.
